Our Story
Origencia Group was founded by Dr. Cedric Habiyaremye, a renowned crop scientist and agricultural entrepreneur dedicated to transforming the global food and agricultural landscape. Born and raised in Rwanda, Dr. Habiyaremye experienced the harsh realities of hunger and life in a refugee camp firsthand. These experiences fueled his determination to find sustainable solutions to food insecurity, which ultimately led him to establish Origencia Group.

With an extensive academic research background, including a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science with Honors, an Advanced Diploma in Soil and Water Management from the University of Rwanda, and an MS and Ph.D. in Agronomy and Crop Science from Washington State University, Dr. Habiyaremye combined his expertise and passion to create a firm focused on innovative, data-driven strategies for global impact.

The firm has collaborated with numerous international organizations, governments, and NGOs. We have led significant projects, such as creating a blueprint for introducing climate-resilient crops in various African countries and leading research in the ESG space, including the True Cost Accounting (TCA) Framework and Methodology in Agriculture Supply Chain.
